About Our Leadership

Get to know the people behind S.E.W

Melissa Z. El-Johnson

CFO & Senior Compliance Officer

Melissa’s 40-year career as an entrepreneur began in the City of Detroit Law Department where she was an accomplished litigator. Melissa transitioned from civil service to private practice developing and owning her law firm as a civil rights litigator. Additionally, as a former real estate investor and landlord, Melissa has the legal expertise to handle the purchase of residential and commercial real estate and is an expert at resolving land title issues. In service in the community, Melissa conducted volunteer workshops and presentations on the law for organizations including the American Association of Retirement Persons (AARP), National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Legal Aid and Defender Association, the insurance industry, and several local churches and civic organizations. Preparation, organization, fairness, and integrity are Melissa’s standards as a professional. She brings decades of credible experience to SEW, operating successful businesses, leading groups, managing personnel, and using the latest resources and practices to ensure SEW is fiscally sound and compliant with all industry requirements.

Dr. Khabira M. Raheem

Research & Community Relations Director

With over 40 years of serving people with holistic herbal solutions and care, Khabira is the perfect person to form collaborative relationships, help communities flourish, and bridge gaps in communication. She has demonstrated both her commitment to and understanding of living harmoniously with the environment through her teaching and healing of others across the globe. As a world citizen who speaks several languages, Khabira is an exemplary researcher who can synthesize information quickly, present options, and engage almost anyone in conversations that lead to successful solutions for all. Her research and investigative skills are essential to SEW to analyze, gather and extract data, resources, and trends as SEW seeks to make its mark in the EV industry.

Regina D. Jemison

Chief Operations Officer

Regina brings vision, determination, and passion for all the possibilities of effective business and healthy communities. As the owner of a law firm for almost 30 years, Regina is known as a builder of profitable business and non-profit projects. She has served on non-profit boards for decades, as a pastor, certified life coach, and helper of those in crisis making her a consummate motivator of any team of people who are willing to give their best. Her focus through the years has been on moving individuals, teams, and organizations from crisis or infancy to wholeness, prosperity, and effectiveness. For SEW, Regina designs and implements company operations, plans, targets, and solutions.

Together these three women bring grit, tenacity, expertise, and drive. Together they make an unstoppable team who can collaborate with industry experts to make Swift Energy Works all they envision for Michigan and the EV industry as a whole.
